To commemorate the 120th Anniversary of his birth, Lyric Fest offers the next installment in celebrating the Great American Songbook. This short but satisfying weekday concert features the songs and life of Kurt Weill, a supremely adaptable composer. Composing in his homeland of Germany in classical and German cabaret style, Weill fled to France when the Nazis came to power and ultimately emigrated to the United States where for over a decade he figured as one of the most distinctive voices in the American popular style.
